The 2024 edition of the AllAfrica Media Leaders’ Summit, organised by AllAfrica Global Media, has commenced in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Summit will convene over 300 African media owners and operators, government officials, corporate leaders, academics, civil society champions, and development partners. They will discuss the media industry’s business aspects and its pivotal role in shaping Africa’s future.
This platform focuses on pivotal themes such as African Economic Transformation, AI and Technology, Regional Integration, Misinformation Challenges, Governance, and Capacity Building, while also calling attention to Sustainable Business Models.
Scheduled to be held from Wednesday, May 8, 2024 to Friday, May 10, 2024, the summit adopts the theme “Re-engineering African Media in Times of Critical Transformation.” It encompasses discussions, panels, and innovations aimed at reshaping the continent’s media landscape.
One of the focal points of this year’s event is the 2024 Media Excellence Awards, honouring outstanding contributions in journalism and media development across Africa.
Innovations to be showcased at the summit include advancements in digital public debate, AI integration, virtual reality experiences, and the introduction of the “Ubuntuverse” metaverse platform.

The AllAfrica Media Leaders’ Summit serves as a pivotal dialogue platform uniting media leaders, policy-makers, activists, and stakeholders championing Africa’s progress.
The summit will climax at the Media Excellence Awards ceremony to celebrate excellence and the impactful role of media in African growth and prosperity.
AllAfrica will honour the winners at an elegant gala dinner on May 9, 2024 at the prestigious Glee Hotel.
