Africa’s Travel Indaba Resumes With 4000 Delegates After Two Years Hiatus (News Central TV )

Tourism Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu opened Africa’s Travel Indaba 2022 in Durban on Tuesday. It is the largest tourism expo on the continent.

Ahead of the Africa’s Tourism Travel Indaba, thousands of international delegates arrived in Durban for the 2022 edition despite talks of the 5th wave of COVID-19.

With an estimated 4000 delegates expected, it is the first since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic more than two years ago, that the event is holding physically.

This year’s Indaba will focus among other things, on recovery from the pandemic, opportunities to combine business and leisure tourism, and enhancing intra-African travel and tourism.

It is expected to generate about R 72.5 Million income for the city’s economy. Themed ‘Africa’s Stories, Your Success’ the 2022 Travel Indaba will showcase a wide variety of Southern Africa’s top tourism products and services

Earlier, Tourism Deputy Minister, Fish Mahlalela addressed BON Day 2022 at the opening of the event meant to start from 3 to 5 May 2022.

The trade show brings the continent’s finest tourism products and experiences under one roof for the world to experience.

Yesterday, MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Ravi Pillay did a walkabout at the Durban ICC.
