Ahmed Musa, the Super Eagles captain, has allegedly quit his contract with Turkish Super Lig club Sivasspor.
Musa and Sivasspor mutually agreed to end their contract.
The 31-year-old made the choice because the club refused to pay his salary for the previous six months.
The dynamic forward is already planning to move to another team in the summer.
Musa moved to Sivasspor from Fatih Karagumruk in 2022. He appeared in nine league games for the team and scored no goals.
He put pen to paper with Sivasspor on a two-year deal in September 2022 and struggled for playing time in his first season. He played twenty-four games with very few starts and scored no goals nor record any assists, averaging twenty-four minutes of playing time in the games he played.
Things got worse for the former Leicester City man in his second season with the Yiğidolar Yigidos as he played just four games before the start of the AFCON 2023 tournament, scoring one goal.
During the tournament in Ivory Coast, five senior players of the Turkish club mutually agreed to terminate their contracts with the club struggling to keep up with their wage bill.
