Ahmed Musa wins top prize at NFF Awards

Super Eagles attacker Ahmed Musa has been named Nigerian Player of the Year at the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) football awards staged in Lagos on Monday night.

The 26-year-old striker saw off competition from Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi and Shanghai Greenland Shenhua frontman Odion Ighalo to win the award.

Musa who plays for Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr was one of Nigeria’s stand out performers at the 2018 FIFA World Cup with his stunning goals against Iceland in Russia.

Super Falcons defender Onome Ebi was named womens player of year, fending off competition from teammates Asisat Oshoala and Francisca Ordega

A special legend’s award was given to the Super Eagles team of 1994 who won the Africa Cup of Nations and got to the Round of 16 at the World Cup in the USA.
