After her recent marriage to Senegal star Sadio Mane, 18-year-old Aisha Tamba, received a warm welcome back to school from fellow students. Mane tied the knot with Tamba in a private ceremony in Dakar, Senegal, six days ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
A video shared by Senenews, a Senegalese media platform, captured the heartwarming scene as hundreds of students gathered to welcome Aisha Tamba back to school. The students, singing in their native Senegal language, expressed their joy with cheers for both Aisha Tamba and Sadio Mane.
Aisha Tamba, an 18-year-old student, is currently pursuing her baccalaureate at a school in Mbao, a town in Dakar. The baccalaureate is a significant academic qualification obtained at the end of secondary education.
The video shows Aisha Tamba smiling and waving to the crowd, clearly moved by the incredible welcome she received. According to her father, Amadou Tamba, the 18-year-old had been in a close relationship with 31-year-old Sadio Mane for over two years, having met at a family gathering.
“My wife and Aisha visited Sadio Mane’s family one day, and this is where he met her for the first time,” Tamba shared. “He probably saw something special in her, and his parents appreciated her as well. They came to see me. We discussed as per tradition, agreed on everything, and waited for this day to happen.”
