Senate President Godswill Akpabio expressed severe concern about the ongoing economic sabotage in the petroleum sector, emphasising that it has significantly eroded investor confidence.
He asserted that the Senate is committed to identifying and ensuring accountability for those responsible for these detrimental actions.
While inaugurating the Senate’s ad-hoc committee to investigate the alleged sabotage within the sector, the Senate President emphasized that this is not just an investigation but a critical mission to safeguard the nation’s future.
He stressed that it is a matter of national security and sovereignty and warned that if left unaddressed, it could severely impact the economy for generations.
Senator Akpabio urged the committee members to work with relevant agencies, industry experts, and stakeholders to thoroughly investigate the root causes of the economic saboteurs, sparing no effort.
