Algeria has refused to accept a list of Algerian nationals slated for deportation from France, accusing the French government of selectively compiling the list and disregarding bilateral agreements.
In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Algeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what it described as “threats, ultimatums, and blackmail” from France regarding the deportation issue.
The ministry criticised France’s “selective approach” to international agreements and insisted that Paris could not unilaterally alter established procedures for handling deportation cases.

Algiers further announced that it would not review the list of individuals France seeks to expel, urging the French government to adhere to the existing framework governing deportations.
The diplomatic standoff highlights ongoing tensions between the two countries over immigration policies and legal agreements.
