Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui and his Tunisian counterpart Kamal Madouri held a phone call on Friday to discuss ways to enhance cooperation at their shared border in a bid to combat smuggling.
According to the Algerian government, the call provided an opportunity to reaffirm the strong relationship between the two nations and their peoples. Both sides emphasised their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, with a focus on achieving strategic integration in line with the shared vision of their respective leaders.

During the conversation, the leaders also reviewed the current state of cooperation between the two countries and explored new opportunities, particularly in developing border areas.
A key issue discussed was the tackling of smuggling, which both nations are seeking to address through the joint committee for border cooperation.
