A battle between Boko Haram and ISWAP took place on September 26, 2023, in the Mountains of Gwoza, Borno State, Northeast, Nigeria, and resulted in the death of Ali Gana, a senior commander of the Boko Haram terrorist group.
It should be recalled that last month, an infighting that broke out between Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) fighters near Marte, Borno State, North-east Nigeria, led to the death of more than 100 terrorists on both sides.
The battle between the two insurgent groups reportedly got worse as more fighters were slain on both sides, according to security sources informed of the conflict.
According to reliable sources, ISWAP and the Bakoura Buduma-led division of Boko Haram engaged in combat for control of territory around the Lake Chad Basin.
Also, in August 2023, Nigeria’s security operatives obliterated 50 bandits in Niger State.
According to reports, the bandits terrorised Kundu village near Zungeru in the state’s Wushishi Local Government Area, which prompted troops to deploy to drive them out of the council. It was learned that the bandits also claimed the lives of other top military officers.
