All six passengers on board a medical plane that crashed in Philadelphia last night have been confirmed dead, according to a statement released by Mayor Cherelle Parker’s office.
The victims include a child and her mother, a doctor, a paramedic, the pilot, and the co-pilot.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her condolences, stating that she is mourning the loss of the six Mexican nationals who died in the crash.
She noted that consular authorities are in close contact with the families of the victims and assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would provide any necessary support.
“Consular authorities are in permanent contact with the families; I have asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide whatever support is required.
“My sympathy goes out to their loved ones and friends,” the president wrote on X.

The crash occurred near Roosevelt Mall, a three-storey shopping centre in a densely populated part of Philadelphia. The area surrounding the crash site is filled with terraced houses and shops.
As a result, certain road closures remain in place and may be for an extended period, according to the city’s Office of Emergency Management. A shelter has been opened at Samuel Fels High School for those affected by the incident.
The plane, a Learjet 55, took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport at around 18:30 local time (23:30 GMT) and crashed less than four miles from the airport. It was en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, with a stopover planned before continuing to Mexico.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
In addition to the fatalities, six people on the ground were injured. Temple University Hospital’s Jeanes Campus in Philadelphia confirmed that the six were treated, with three being released.
The condition of the other three remains unknown.
