South African club AmaZulu has announced the dismissal of Spanish coach Pablo Franco Martin following a poor start to the Premiership season, where the team lost their first three matches.
The Durban side suffered defeats to Polokwane City and Kaizer Chiefs, culminating in a 1-0 loss to Marumo Gallants last Saturday, which marked a clash between the two lowest-ranked clubs.
Before joining AmaZulu last year, Martin served as an assistant coach at Real Madrid in 2018, followed by two years at Kuwaiti club Al Qadsia and one year with Tanzanian team Simba.
Martin’s tenure at AmaZulu was disappointing, as the club finished 11th in the 16-team Premiership during his first season. His overall record included 12 wins, 12 draws, and 15 losses in league and cup competitions.
