It is no news that Timbalang, fondly called Timbo, is a huge fan of the Queen of Afro-house, and having recognised good music, he has collaborated with the singer. From the way Timbaland was vibing to the yet to be released song, it can be deduced that he really enjoyed making music with the Nigerian artiste.
A couple of moths ago, TImbaland was seen dancing to Niniola’s song ”Maradona” and giving her a shout out on social media, it could have been that this was the period that he discovered the talent, Niniola. Now, he is back again but this time having done a collaboration with the ”Maradona” crooner.
Niniola steady putting Africa on the map with her unique style of music. She rose to fame in 2013, after participsting in the sixth season of Project Fame. The ”Ibadi” singer is known for her energy on stage, and as a very diverse performer. On the other hand, Timbaland is a veteran musician and a widely known producer in the global entertainment industry, who has worked with the likes of Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Kanye West, Justin Bieber to mention a few.
Niniola reposted the video of Timbaland dancing to her song, and said, ”one of many with The LEGEND!!! Lol”
The songwriter and performer seems to have understood her niche in the entertainment industry, coming out when there were very few female artistes in the industry and she has been doing amazingly well in the Afro-house and folk house genre. After releasing her debut single ”ibadi” in 2014, the artiste has since gained extensive airplay and topped national music charts.
Her single, ”Maradona” produced by Sarz on the beat, spent 13 weeks on South Africa’s Metro Fm chart, retaining the number 1 position for 6 weeks. In 2018, Niniola’s single, Maradona was nominated fir BET awards. In 2020, Niniola received her Grammy nomination certificate for her work as a composer on THE LION KING: THE GIFT, for the track ”Find Your Way Back”.
