ANC Delegates to Show Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination Before Conference

Ahead of the highly anticipated elective conference scheduled this weekend, all delegates of the African National Congress (ANC) will be mandated to tender proof of Covid-19 vaccination, or a negative test result at the venue of the conference.

This was communicated in a letter to the party’s regional structures, by the ANC provincial task team co-ordinator Lulama Ngcukayitobi on Tuesday, May 3.

“All delegates will, upon arrival, be expected to produce a proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test result not older than 72 hours,” the letter read.

Following the subtle conflict brewing between former allies Oscar Mabuyane and Babalo Madikizela, who are both running for the chairperson position, with Mabuyane gunning for second term, the province has been separated into two factions.

The elective conference had been postponed on two occasions, and some insiders have pointed accusing fingers at Ngcukayitobi for intentionally postponing it to enable his candidate to garner more support.

Thus far, it has been confirmed that the conference would hold this weekend.
