Following a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth, Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi suffered humiliation as an angry Everton fan returned his jersey which he had given to the supporter.
Goals from Marcus Tavernier, Kieffer Moore, and Jaidon Anthony were enough to defeat a lacklustre Everton team, whose performance clearly enraged the Everton crowd. At the end of the game, supporters refused to take Iwobi’s shirt, instead hurling it back onto the field at the Vitality Stadium.
Everton’s defeat to Bournemouth was their second in a row, and they’re seventh in the league this season. At the moment, Frank Lampard’s team is 17th, just one point ahead of Nottingham Forest in the bottom three.
Lampard will be looking to use the international break to his advantage after three losses in their past three games in all competitions prior to the World Cup. They will seek to return to form when they face Wolves on Boxing Day.
