A group of angry protesters stormed the Oyo State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan leaving an officer from the governor’s office injured in the altercation.

The secretariat gates were locked after reports of protests spreading throughout the capital city. The protesters, armed with sticks, wood, and other weapons, broke open the two main gates, causing security personnel to seek refuge.

As people and workers at the secretariat fled for safety, the protesters made their way to the governor’s office and tried to force the gate open. The officers on duty fired blank shots in the air, which prompted the protesters to throw stones and other dangerous weapons.
