Another Building Collapses in Lagos (News Central TV)

Reports indicate that a building at Onipanu,Ilupeju area of Lagos has reportedly collapsed.

This is coming less than two weeks after a church building under construction collapsed opposite Number 17, Cardoso Street, off Martins Street in Mushin.

Details are sketchy as at press time, however, the incident occurred at about 1.07am at Oke Arin street, off Shyllon Ilupeju.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed the development.

“The Alpha Cobra team of Lagos State Emergency at Onipanu enroute Oke Arin street off shyllon Ilupeju.” He said.

According to the Permanent Secretary in the Agency, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, the abandoned two Storey building collapsed to ground zero.

He said initial investigation revealed that the incident occurred in the early hours of today due to ageing of the structure.

Oke-Osanyintolu who confirmed that no loss of life, said one adult male sustained minor injury and has been taken to hospital.

NEMA says the building belongs to Christ Divine Church is located at 15, Oke Arin off Shillon Onipanu. Four families escaped the disaster, as they escaped to safety after noticing signs from the building. Efforts are on for the families to retrieve their personal belongings.
