Greek basketball player of Nigerian descent, Giannis Antetokounmpo has signed a new bumper deal with his team, the Milwaukee Bucks.
The new deal, reported to be in the region of $221m for five years is one of the best and highest in the NBA.
The Greek NBA star took to his Twitter page to reveal his new contract with the Bucks on Tuesday.
Many had linked Antetokounmpo, known as the ‘Greek Freak’ with a move to another team after yet another disappointing outing in the NBA playoffs which saw the Bucks not making it to the finals. Giannis, despite the setback was voted as the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, beating legend, LeBron James and James Harden to the coveted prize.
Antetokounmpo was born in Greece to Nigerian immigrants. His parents earned their Greek passports after he became a big player in the NBA.
Three Antetokounmpo brothers ply their trades in the NBA with Thanasis, Giannis’ brother being his teammate at the Bucks.
