Anthony Joshua Expects Tough Fight Against Dubois in Heavyweight Title Bout

Anthony Joshua is bracing himself for a significant test as he faces Daniel Dubois in their IBF heavyweight title bout at Wembley Stadium on 21st September.

“It’s going to be a tough fight for sure,” Joshua remarked when discussing the upcoming fight against Dubois.

The two-time former world champion praised Dubois’ close family ties, acknowledging the positive influence it has had on the 27-year-old’s career.

“I look at the pros in people, and I like the family, the synergy he has with his family,” Joshua said. “It plays a part; it plays a massive part in the influence a family has in a fighter’s career. I think that is helping Daniel along the way.”

The highly anticipated showdown will take place in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. While Joshua is no stranger to the iconic venue, this will be Dubois’ first fight on such a grand stage in the national stadium.

Dubois’ team, led by trainer Don Charles, will need to maintain composure under the immense pressure as they face the biggest challenge of Dubois’ career to date.

Joshua also addressed the rumours surrounding an old sparring session in 2016, denying claims that Dubois had come close to knocking him out. “He landed a solid punch, but I stayed on my feet. I’m not sure where this idea of him putting me down came from,” Joshua clarified.

Dubois, on his part, is determined to dethrone Joshua. Joshua been the king for a long time, and on the night, I need to become a king slayer. That’s my goal; that’s the mission at hand,” Dubois stated confidently.

Fans and pundits remain divided on the potential outcome, with some, like former champions Liam Smith and Josh Warrington, backing Joshua, while others, including Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang, believe Dubois could pull off an upset.

With the 21st September fight drawing near, both fighters are in prime condition, setting the stage for one of the most eagerly awaited heavyweight battles of the year.
