Humphrey Anumudu, a Labour Party candidate for governor in the upcoming primary election in Imo State, was discovered dead in his home.
Anumudu had just returned from a meeting at the Labour Party (LP) secretariat in Abuja when he was discovered dead in his residence in Lagos.
The dead was a native of the ancient Mbieri Kingdom, which is located in Imo State’s Mbaitoli Local Government Area.

Anumudu was a multibillionaire businessman and politician who had been running for the state’s governorship since 1998 until his demise.
He was reportedly the victor of the Peoples Democratic Party’s primary for governor in the state in 1998 before Achike Udenwa was given the ballot and went on to lead the state from 1999 to 2007.
Since that time, he has been running for the state’s top position. He ran for governor in 2019 as the Zenith Labour party nominee. He was the CEO of Globe Motors and a well-known figure in the law profession.
