APC Primaries: Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Early Lead

APC Primaries: Bola Tinubu in Early Lead (News Central TV)

Former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken an early lead as organisers sort ballots at the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary election venue, Eagles Square.

Tinubu entered the presidential primary with an advantage over the other candidates after six stepped down for him.

As the results come in, the name of the party’s National Leader has become a recurring decimal, as he has been mentioned more than his opponents while officials who conducted the voting process sort the votes from the ballot boxes.

He has taken the lead, with at least 70% of the votes cast so far.

Feelers at the primary election site also indicate that Tinubu may have had a clear path as a result of the support he received from other aspirants who stepped down for him, to the detriment of other leading aspirants such as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Aspirants who stepped down for Tinubu and called on the delegates to vote for the Jagaban Borgu were Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, Godswill Akpabio, Senator Ajayi Borroffice, Dimeji Bankole; Senator Ibikunle Amosun; and Mrs Uju Ohanenye.

Tinubu is trailed by Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
