The Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM) declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the local government elections held on Saturday after winning 23 chairmanships and 255 councillorship seats.
Hajara Mohammed, the commission’s chairperson, announced that eight political parties participated in the elections, with the APC securing 23 chairmanship positions and 255 councillorship positions.
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the elections across the state after casting his vote at LEA Kawo polling unit O47 in Kaduna North Local Government Area.
The Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) Kaduna chapter acknowledged the election as largely peaceful and transparent despite the delayed arrival of voting materials in some locations. At the same time, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) claimed that the election did not take place in Kaduna State.
