The Arab League’s emergency meeting on Gaza, originally scheduled for next week, has been postponed to March 4, Egypt announced on Tuesday.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, the new date was set in coordination with Arab League members to allow for “substantive and logistical preparations” ahead of the summit.
The meeting was called in response to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal to take control of war-ravaged Gaza and relocate its Palestinian residents to other countries, including Egypt and Jordan.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will host a regional summit on Friday, bringing together the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates to present an alternative plan for Gaza’s reconstruction—one that ensures Palestinians remain on their land.
Trump’s proposal has triggered widespread condemnation across the Arab world, prompting a rare display of unity among Arab nations in opposition to the plan.
