Armed men have killed four Police and Road Safety officers were killed in Nsukka, Enugu state. The attack is the second in as many days after two cops were shot and killed in the state capital on Friday.
Reports say several vehicles were also set ablaze in the mayhem.
The traditional ruler of the Egali Amalla community was reportedly attacked but he managed to escape, as with several others. However, his vehicle was burnt.
Just a day earlier, two policemen were killed as they carried out a stop-and-search near the Government House.
The state is experiencing a surge in violence after policemen and three members of Neighbourhood Watch were killed during last Friday’s Iggah crisis, in the Uzo-Uwani council area of Enugu state.
Meanwhile, the state Governor, Peter Mbah has vowed to apprehend the assailants who killed two policemen on Friday with all the resource available, placing a N10 million bounty for the arrest of the criminals
