Residents have stated that they were taken by surprise by the armed terrorists as no one suspected or saw any unusual movement around, only to be attacked.

As at the filing of this report, some residents were already fleeing from the town in search of a safe place from the terrorist group.

Details of the ongoing incident are at the moment, sketchy, but will be reported as events unfold.

In 2021, armed terrorists attacked the town around 5pm, with several gun trucks. Many residents upon seeing them, scampered in different directions for safety.

Troops of the Nigerian Army in Operation Lafiya Dole however, gunned down at least 21 of the terrorists who attacked the border town, destroying three communication masts and looting shops before the soldiers’ intervention.
