Asake, the Afrobeats star, has made history by selling out the O2 Arena for the second time. After releasing his third album, Lungu Boy, Asake began a world tour, headlining prominent venues, including the renowned O2 Arena.

At the concert, Asake gave an exciting performance, singing hits from Lungu Boy and popular songs from his earlier albums. The O2 Arena, which holds 20,000 people, was completely full, showing how much his fans connect with him.

Some famous guests were there too, including fellow Afrobeats artist Wizkid and British actor Idris Elba. Elba presented Asake with a plaque celebrating the sold-out show and another award for his previous album, Work of Art.

Asake first sold out the O2 Arena in 2023 after his second album, Work of Art, came out. This new success puts him alongside other Nigerian stars like Davido and Wizkid, who have also sold out the venue multiple times.

O2 Arena is a notable venue that has documented Afrobeats’ global rise as it showcases the genre’s rise around the world. Davido was the first Nigerian solo artist to headline the arena in 2018, followed by Wizkid in 2019 and again for three nights in 2021.

The concert was not just about music; it was a gathering of stars. Many celebrities, including football players and artists like Sarz and Stormzy, attended. Some even surprised the audience by performing with Asake.
