Rapper A$AP Rocky is reportedly in talks to acquire EFL football club Tranmere Rovers in a deal worth millions of pounds.
The 36-year-old, who is romantically involved with popstar and billionaire cosmetics mogul Rihanna, is believed to be part of an investment group led by celebrity lawyer Joe Tacopina. It is reported that Tacopina has been negotiating with the League Two football team for an 80 per cent stake valued at £15 million.
Should the deal go through, Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is expected to attend games with Rihanna at Prenton Park in Birkenhead.
Reports suggest that there may also be plans for a documentary similar to the acclaimed docu-series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.
The series chronicles the experiences of the Welsh football club, which is owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, as they navigate running the third-oldest professional football club in the world.
Mark and Nicola Palios, who have been at the helm of Tranmere Rovers for a decade, currently own the club.
