Atiku Abubakar Wins PDP Presidential Primary, Becomes Party Flagbearer in 2023 General Elections

Former Nigeria’s vice president Atiku Abubakar has been elected as the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the next general elections for the second time in a row.

He won the election with 371 votes with the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, coming second with 237 votes.

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki came a distant third with 70 votes. The chief returning officer of the 2023 electoral committee declared Atiku Abubakar as the winner stating that the total votes cast as 763, 12 Void votes, Valid votes 731
