Former Nigerian Vice President and 2023 PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has confirmed that a coalition of opposition parties is taking shape to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, March 20, Atiku affirmed the coalition’s resolve when asked by News Central TV correspondent Amadin Uyi, whether it would stand against the APC in 2027.
His response was a firm: “Yes sir!”

The briefing, held by opposition party leaders, also condemned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
The coalition called for an immediate reversal of the decision and the reinstatement of suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
