Gabon international, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, on Saturday got on the scoresheet in Arsenal 3-0 victory over newly-promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage..
The Gunners skipper Aubameyang grabbed his side third goal in the 57th after Alexandre Lacazette and new signing Gabriel had put the side two goals ahead in the 8th and 49th minutes.
In the 8th minute, Lacazette poked the ball in from close range after poor defending by the home side. Brazilian defender Gabriel, who joined Arsenal from Ligue 1 side Lille, made it 2-0 with a huge header from a corner swung in by Willian, also a new signing.
Aubameyang put the game beyond Fulham’s reach in the 57th minute with a rasping shot from inside the penalty area.
The Gabonese signed a new three-year deal with the north London side to secure his long-term future at The Emirates last week.
After the match, longtime Arsenal supporter, Piers Morgan took to Twitter to hail Aubameyang as the best striker in the world.
Morgan wrote on Twitter: “BOOM! 0-3. What a goal… what a player… King
@Aubameyang7 proving once again he’s the best striker in the world.”
Aubameyang scored 22 times in 36 games in the Premier League last season.
The Gabon international has scored 72 times in all competitions since his move to Arsenal in the 2018 January transfer window.
Arsenal will take on West Ham United at The Emirates next Saturday before the Gunners finish their September fixture list with a clash against defending Premier League champions Liverpool FC.
