Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was in fine form for Arsenal on Thursday night in the UEFA Europa League as the Gunners ran out 3-1 winners against visiting Valencia in the first leg of their semi-final.
The Spanish side had taken an early lead through Mouctar Diakhaby’s 11th-minute header but Aubameyang set up Alexander Lacazette who equalized just seven minutes later.
Lacazette doubled the lead after 25 minutes with a thunderous back post header. Aubameyang could have gotten on the scoresheet but his volley bounced off the turf and over the bar.
However, the Gabonese striker would not be denied with his late effort sealing the win for the Gunners and settling a tight affair.
Aubameyang has been directly involved in 30 goals in his 28 starts at the Emirates in all competitions this season, scoring 23 times and providing 7 assists.
