On Sunday, the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, expressed his concern about reports of begging and extortion at Nigerian international airports in the country by some dishonest individuals.
In a social media post, the Minister expressed his dismay that staff members soliciting and extorting money from travellers have tarnished the country’s reputation.
He mentioned that he receives constant messages from concerned citizens complaining about this issue.
The Minister stated that most of the agencies involved are not under the control of the Aviation Ministry, even though they are stationed at the airports.
“However, I have been working closely with other Ministers, arms of government and agencies who are responsible for these agencies and a solution is in sight soon”.
