Nigeria’s largest flight carrier, Air Peace has suspended operations to Kaduna International Airport.

This is coming, following the development on the gun attack around the airport over the weekend.

Terrorists had gunned down a guard attached to the Nigerian Airspace Management Authority (NAMA) on Saturday.

The military was reported to have engaged the bandits in heavy shootout, which led to a delay of a Lagos-bound Azman flight.

The military on Monday said it killed 12 bandits involved in Saturday’s attack on the Kaduna Airport.

It also added that the attack took place six kilometres away from the terminal point and outside the airport perimetre fence.

Speaking during an on-the-spot assessment of the airport on Monday, the Garrison Commander of One Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Uriah Opuene and the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said twelve of the bandits were killed through an air strike by troops of the Nigerian Airforce.

On Tuesday, Azman announced an indefinite suspension of its flights to Kaduna over insecurity. Hours later, Air Peace through its Spokesman, Stanley Olisa issued a statement halting operations to Kaduna State.
