An undisclosed number of passengers were abducted after bandits blocked the Gusau-Funtua road near Margazu village in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State. The assailants intercepted five vehicles, taking passengers hostage.
Some residents reported that the bandits, who have been active since the onset of the rainy season, frequently disrupt traffic along the route, often leading to daily abductions. Some of the bandits were reportedly killed during these attacks.
Zamfara Police Command spokesman, ASP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident and stated that soldiers have been deployed to the area to pursue the bandits.
