Janet Gimba, a judge from Kaduna state, Nigeria, who was kidnapped along with her four children on Sunday by suspected bandits, has regained freedom.
Her husband, Dr. Musa Gimba, confirmed her release on Thursday, stating that the children are still being held by the bandits, who are demanding a ransom of N150 million for their release within three days.
Dr. Musa said the bandits have threatened to kill the children if the money isn’t paid.
Tragically, the bandits had already killed their 14-year-old son, Victor, whose body was found near the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.
The Kaduna State Police Command Spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, said the police are actively working with other security agencies to rescue the remaining children and apprehend the criminals.
