Bandits have attacked the communities of Bauda and Chibiya in Maro Ward, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of six people and the abduction of several others. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the bandits, armed with sophisticated weapons and riding motorcycles, unleashed terror by burning houses and killing residents.
Ibrahim Gajere, the chairman of the local government, confirmed the tragic events. He reported that two individuals lost their lives in Bauda and three others in Chibiya. The victims include Mamuda Tanimu from Ungwan Sarki village, Yusuf Paul from Bauda, Amuse Wasika and Laraba Timothy from Chibiya, as well as Saratu Amuse, who was visiting Chibiya at the time.
Several houses were also destroyed in the attack, belonging to Paul Anthony, Yusuf Paul, Hosea Moni, Victor Yusuf, Benedict Paul, Yohanna Moni, and Joseph Yusuf.
Gajere added that seven residential buildings and eight motorcycles were set ablaze during the violent raid.
“Although most of the victims killed were attacked while working on their farms, two persons were killed in their homes.
“Security operatives have been notified of the sad incident and have intensified patrol within and around the general area,” Gajere said.
