Suspected kidnappers killed Bala Ali, the eldest son of a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly from the Dass Constituency.  A spokesperson for House Speaker Abubakar Suleiman, Abdul Burra told correspondents on Tuesday night that Ado Wakili, the lawmaker representing the Burra Constituency, made the disclosure during the House’s sitting.

On Tuesday, the House was presided over by Deputy Speaker Danlami Ahmed Kawule. He called the incident “tragic” and asked Allah to forgive the killer and grant the deceased Jannatul Firdaus (Paradise).

The Speaker ordered a special prayer to be held in honor of the deceased. The prayer was led by Bello Shira, who was elected to represent the Shira Constituency. The Speaker later announced that the member and his family would be receiving a condolence visit from the legislators.

Burra reported that Baballe Dambam, who represents the Dambam/Zagaya/Jalam Constituency, had described the events, saying that the deceased had been kidnapped by unknown people, imprisoned for days, and then murdered.  He called it a shocking and disturbing tragedy and said the funeral prayers had already been conducted for the deceased.
