The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has suspended two Permanent Secretaries and a Chief Executive Officer (Accounts) for serious misconduct, effective September 27, 2024.
In a statement released by the Commission’s Information Officer, Saleh Umar, the decision was made during the Commission’s first extraordinary meeting of the year, held at its conference hall.
The officials—Sa’idu Abubakar and Danjuma Garba (Permanent Secretaries) along with Bala Ibrahim Sabo (Chief Executive Officer, Accounts)—faced disciplinary measures following recommendations from the Office of the State Head of Civil Service.
“The Commission reviewed the recommendations and supporting documents provided by the Office of the State Head of Civil Service, which advised appropriate disciplinary actions against the officers,” the statement read.
The Commission cited section 0331 of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations in suspending the officials to allow further investigation, as the matter is now with the relevant authorities.
Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, emphasized the need for compliance with public service regulations, reaffirming the Commission’s commitment to maintaining discipline within the State Civil Service.
“We encourage all public and civil servants in the state to adhere to the established rules,” he stated.
The suspended officials are connected to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Natural Resources.
