Belarus President Meets Zimbabwe’s FM in Minsk (News Central TV)

According to local media, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko met with visiting Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Frederik Shava in the nation’s capital, Minsk.

Lukashenko, the two nations identified a number of new areas for cooperation, including the humanitarian sector, education, maternity and children’s care, and baby food.

He declared that the wife of Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa would soon travel to Belarus to address the problems.

The president of Belarus declared that he was keeping his word on promises made to Mnangagwa earlier this year.

He claimed to have discussed cooperation with Zimbabwe and other African nations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and to have obtained his “complete commitment” to such cooperation.

Zimbabwe has made significant progress toward food security in part because of Belarus, as reported by local media on Tuesday.

According to a report by Belarusian TV, Belarus is assisting Zimbabwe in mechanizing its farms.

For the following 18 months, it promised to provide equipment worth $66 million (£54 million). Moreover, Zimbabwe said that it would open an embassy in Belarus and nominate an ambassador soon.
