The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has distanced itself from a false recruitment advertisement currently circulating on the internet.
The Corps warned job seekers to beware of the misleading claims, to avoid falling prey to scammers.
FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, issued a statement signed by the corps spokesperson, Jonas Agwu on Sunday, April 14.
“The attention of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been drawn to a publication by online platforms misinforming the public about ongoing recruitment of personnel into the services of the corps.
“This medium is to let the public know that the corps is presently not recruiting, neither is there any ongoing arrangement to that effect.
“The Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, wishes to admonish applicants seeking to join the services of the corps, as well as the general public, to disregard the fake and misleading publications,” the statement reads.
News Central reports that a fake recruitment notice has been circulating the internet since April 4, 2024 of an ongoing recruitment by the FRSC. The notice calls on job seekers looking to work with the Corps to follow portal requirements and how to apply.
The fake job advertisement reads:
“FRSC Recruitment Portal 2024: The Federal Road Safety Corps is recruiting skilled experts who have experience and a desire to work with the organisation. Learn more about the Federal Road Safety Corps recruitment portal requirements and how to apply by reading on.”
Agwu, however, advised the public to ignore the false claims, stating that there are no recruitment processes happening or scheduled.
He warned against interacting with fraudulent entities spreading misinformation, adding that the Corps won’t be liable for any resulting consequences.
“The public is hereby warned to desist from any form of engagement with the purported scammers and purveyors of misinformation as the Corps will not be liable should anyone fall victim,” the statement stressed.
