Black Stars Camp Opens Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers Against Ethiopia

The Ghanaian football federation has announced that the team camp in preparation for the first match in the series of games for the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be opened from Today.

Ghana will host Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in their opening game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Black Stars coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor first named a 30-man provisional squad for the doubleheader against Ethiopia and South Africa two weeks ago.

The players invited are expected to arrive in Ghana from Monday as training begins on Tuesday, August 31.

The skipper of the team, Andre Ayew, and Mubarak Wakaso are the first Black Stars players to arrive in Ghana ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana is likely to lose five players ahead of the second game in South Africa following the decision of Premier League clubs not to release players for matches in COVID-19 red-list countries during the September International window.
