Bobi Wine Arrested Again, Released Without Charge

Ugandan Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) of the National Unity Platform (NUP)was arrested on Monday alongside his supporters before they were all released without charge.

Wine, a 38-year old Presidential candidate gave incumbent, Yoweri Museveni a run for his money before losing in the elections. He filed a case at the Ugandan Supreme Court questioning the veracity of the results but lost in the court.

Alongside his supporters, Wine protested against the continuous arrest and detention of his supporters who are still on the streets protesting.

Police officers still surround Bobi Wine’s home and he was driven out of his party’s headquarters on Tuesday following plans to visit the UPDF headquarters same day to petition Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces.

Wine did not have flowery words for Museveni who Wine says has continued to treat innocent Ugandans as criminals.

Bobi Wine lost in the most bloody pre-electoral times seen in the history of Uganda with hundreds of his supporters assaulted during campaigns by the Police and the Ugandan military.
