Weeks after the Ugandan Presidential election, opposition candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) has contested the election ressults in court.
Bobi Wine’s lawyers say the election, the aftermath of which saw Bobi Wine being held in his house by government forces was rigged and filled with undemocratic events.
Museveni defeated Bobi Wine to re-emerge President for the 6th time, following a bloody pre-election campaign where hundreds of opposition supporters were killed.
Medard Sseggona, one of Wine’s lawyers, said “any election Museveni participates in can never be a peaceful election, can never be a free and fair election”.
“We want nullification of the election. We do not want Museveni participating in any future election,” Sseggona said outside the Kampala courthouse where he filed the petition.
Museveni was declared the winner after amassing 59% of the votes, his lowest since 1996, and Bobi Wine, 34%.
The Ugandan Supreme Court is bound to make a ruling in the next 45 days.

That’s the best thing to do by challenging the result in court, though I will advise him not to spend much time in court but to go back to the drawing board to strategized for next election. He should also calm his followers so it will not create another chaos…he is not a looser but a winner.
