Controversial social media figure and crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has exited the country hours after being released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bobrisky was re-arrested in Lagos last week by the EFCC at Murtala Mohammed International Airport while preparing to board a flight to London.
The crossdresser provided this update through a series of posts on his Instagram story on Monday after two unsuccessful attempts to leave Nigeria. In a now-viral video announcing his departure, he stated, “See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times, which is over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl.”
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) re-arrested him shortly after his initial detainment at the Seme border while he was trying to leave the country.
Bobrisky has been under scrutiny since an audio recording allegedly emerged online in which he purportedly claimed to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million.
