Boko Haram terrorists have raided Jibwiwi hamlet in Borno State’s Hawul LGA, Northeast Nigeria, and set fire to eight residences as well as numerous grain silos.
It was said that the attackers arrived in the area on many motorcycles at around 6am on Monday.
Reports say that the Boko Haram terrorists destroyed the silos holding hundreds of grain bags without stealing anything.
“They burnt eight houses and many silos; most of the stores contained dozens of bags of maize, guinea corn and groundnuts etc.
“From there, they proceeded to Ngulde community in Askira Uba LGA, but we were able to subdue them with the help of hunters.
“The quick intervention of vigilantes saved the situation as the terrorists escaped after sighting lights of the hunters’ patrol vehicles,” he said.
Shawulu Yohanna, the chairman of Northeast Hunters/Vigilante Group, acknowledged the incident and added that his squad was fast to react and stop the terrorists from hitting the following neighborhood.
Meanwhile, security operatives attached to the Bauchi State Police Command have exterminated a notorious bandits kingpin Madaki Mansur alongside his foot soldiers in Bauchi State.
Mansur is widely feared for inflicting mayhem in Alkaleri Local Government Area and other neighbouring states of Taraba, Plateau and Gombe.
Mansur was eliminated on Monday December 19 after the Bauchi State Police command engaged his foot soldiers in a gun battle in four different hideouts; Mansur, Digare, Gwana and Dajin Madam in Alkaleri forest.
