Three farmers were killed by Boko Haram terrorists while tending to their farms in Gajeri village, Konduga Local Council, Borno State.
On the outskirts of Sambisa Forest, the bodies of the farmers who died on Wednesday were discovered.
The Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Maj-Gen. Christopher Musa, confirmed the tragedy yesterday in Maiduguri and said that the farmers who were killed had been shot and suffered serious knife cuts to their bodies.
He continued by saying that the motorcycle-riding terrorists required food before they could carry out their evil deeds in Borno areas.
He noted that the assailants shot the farmers because they were unable to supply the demand for food. Two farmers who had escaped the gun onslaught were reportedly slaughtered by the terrorists with cutlasses as well.
A survivor named Modu Aisami expressed regret about one of the farmers getting away with gunshot wounds. He revealed that it was thought that terrorists had broken into the Gazuwa settlement in the Bama Council.
On August 2, 2022, troops from the 21 Armoured Brigade, Bama, attacked a Boko Haram camp and killed a large number of militants.
In the meantime, on Wednesday, Babagana Bulama, a medical worker, was kidnapped by Boko Haram following an ambush.
The incident happened in Northern Borno Senatorial District along the Nganzai-Monguno road.
