Boko Haram Member Surrenders to MNJTF in Borno State

A member of the Boko Haram terrorist group, Bochu Abacha, has surrendered to troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) stationed in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The disclosure was made in a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba on Saturday.

According to the statement, Bochu Abacha was a key player in the terrorist group, actively participating in various operations along the Monguno-Baga axis.

Colonel Osoba explained that Bochu decided to surrender because of the ongoing intense operations by the MNJTF and his growing disinterest in being part of the terrorist activities.

The statement further revealed that Bochu escaped from a Boko Haram camp located in Mussaram while he was still armed.

Upon his surrender, authorities recovered several items from him. These items included one AK-47 rifle, a magazine that held 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, an AIRTEL SIM card, and cash amounting to Thirty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N32,500).

Currently, Bochu Abacha is assisting the authorities by providing valuable intelligence that may aid in further operations against Boko Haram.
