Reports indicate that Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday.
According to a photo posted by Bashir Ahmad, the Special Assistant on Digital Communications to the President, Tinubu was joined at the meeting by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the APC National Chairman.
Buhari attended the conference shortly after his arrival from a two-week medical vacation in London.
Around 7 o’clock on Sunday evening, the President’s official jet landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Buhari said the reason for his visit was to discuss the diplomatic and trade relationship between the two countries.
He said that the meeting was initially planned to hold in Kigali before Charles became king. Buhari used the opportunity to congratulate the king on his ascension to the throne.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party have since begun their campaigns for the 2023 elections, although the incumbent party has not yet formally begun its presidential campaign, ostensibly in anticipation of Buhari’s arrival from London.
