Borussia Dortmund has officially announced the transfer of Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid. The German club has agreed to sell Bellingham to Los Blancos for a base fee of €103 million, with an additional 30% of the deal potentially earned through variables. The overall cost of the transfer could reach approximately €134 million if all the variables are met, although the feasibility of these conditions is yet to be determined. In recent trends, some of these variables might be linked to Champions League triumphs or Ballon d’Or achievements.

Considering the reported wages for Jude Bellingham, the deal is expected to cost Real Madrid a minimum of €163 million over the course of his six-year contract. If the variables are fulfilled, the maximum expenditure could rise to around €204 million.

Jude Bellingham is viewed as a promising long-term asset for Real Madrid’s midfield, potentially succeeding Luka Modric as a game-changer for the team. If he realizes his potential, there is no doubt that Bellingham will prove to be a worthwhile investment. At only 19 years old, he could remain with the club for a decade or more and still command a significant transfer fee. Real Madrid seems determined to avoid a situation similar to Eden Hazard’s, hence their focus on securing younger star signings to safeguard against a decline in value due to age.

Jude Bellingham Set to Miss Out on Upto €30 Million By Accepting Madrid Deal

According to Spanish newspaper, Marca, the proposed earnings of Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid will be significantly lower compared to what he could have received elsewhere. Manchester City, for instance, was reportedly prepared to offer him a six-year contract until 2029 with an annual salary of €15 million.

In contrast, Bellingham’s contract with Los Blancos will be of the same duration, but his earnings will not reach the level of the highest-paid players at the club. As per Fabrizio Romano, his salary is expected to fall within the range of €10-12 million. This represents a difference of €18-30 million over the course of the contract.

It is worth noting that Jude Bellingham may have opportunities for additional income through sponsorships by playing for Real Madrid.

Marca further highlights that other players, such as Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Vinicius Junior, and Endrick Felipe, have also chosen to join Real Madrid despite receiving more lucrative offers elsewhere. The article suggests that the allure of joining Los Blancos, along with the prestige associated with the club, has been a major factor in their decisions. Similar to Barcelona, both of Spain’s top clubs rely on their reputation to attract top talent, as they are no longer able to offer the highest wages as they once did a decade ago.
