After leaving Liverpool, Roberto Firmino signed a three-year contract with Al-Ahli of the Saudi Pro League.

The 31-year-old Brazilian forward’s contract with Liverpool terminated at the end of the last campaign, making him a free agent.

Following his 2015 transfer from Hoffenheim to the Reds, Firmino scored 111 goals in 362 games.

He joins Senegal goalkeeper Eduard Mendy at Al-Ahli after the latter left Chelsea last week. He is one of numerous high-profile players that Saudi Arabian clubs have signed this summer.

In addition to Karim Benzema, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, and Marcelo Brozovic moving on from Chelsea, N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly have also left for Saudi Arabia.

This summer, James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Firmino all departed Liverpool as free agents.

In December 2019, Liverpool defeated Flamengo and won the Fifa Club World Cup for the first time thanks in part to a goal by Firmino in extra time.
