The rest of the 29 students abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka in Kaduna State have just regained their freedom.
The students were released some minutes past 4pm around the Kidanda area in Giwa Local Government area of the state.
Abdullahi Usman, Chairman of the Parents’ Committee confirmed that the students are on their way back to the state capital.
The abductors had initially demanded over N500million ransom from the Kaduna State Government which was dismissed by the state Governor Nasir El-Rufai saying the state will not negotiate with bandits.
Usman did not however disclose the amount paid as ransom for the release of the students.
Authorities in the state and the Kaduna State Police Command have yet to confirm the latest development.
In a related hunt for miscreants the NAF component of Operation Thunder Strike (OPTS) in response to credible intelligence, neutralised a group of bandits congregating in a location to carry out attacks in Birnin Gwari LGA on Monday May 3, 2021.
